On behalf of the ESIS Board of Directors and Team of Staff, I am so thrilled to welcome you to Earth Sciences Institute of Shinyanga, a unique place for everyone. With our straightforward values and commitment to customers, we always vow to make “Quality Our First Priority”.
We are the only private technical institution producing mining technicians at the certificate and diploma level in the mining industry in Tanzania. We hope that as you read these notes and browse our website (www.esis.ac.tz) you will start seeing just how unique we are.
We strive to achieve very high academic standards in line with our vision of “Becoming the center of technical education excellence”. Students come here and are inspired to do their best. They work hard not only to achieve their hopes and dreams but also the hopes and dreams of their families.
ESIS as a motivated family, its corporate culture, and the values we hold are the key factors to our success.
Life at ESIS is not only about academic excellence but also about real-life experiences for our staff and students. The great strength of the college is the teamwork, confidence, and motivation. The students come here from all over Tanzania sharing common aspirations, and value learning, respect, and appreciation. They are all amazed by the skills and expertise of their tutors. They also find that ESIS is small enough to feel like their second home they can rely on. In ESIS, we leave enough room and environments for young people to develop the skills, self-confidence, and maturity they will require in their adult and employment lives.
Our classes, dormitories, and labs are located in Shinyanga municipality so that practical and all field visits are done easily and frequently near mine sites. As I said before, college life is not only about academics, students are surrounded by choices of sports and games so that their campus life is always holistic.
ESIS is a unique and exciting mining institute where young men and women can grow to a discern life and honorable future.
