Students at ESIS can enjoy a friendly environment that is natural. The Institute is built on a gentle hill along which mangle trees and much other natural vegetation give ESIS an attractive atmosphere.
Geology Programs
ESIS Offers long courses in Exploration and Mining Geology, Mineralogy and Petrology, Mining engineering, Mineral Processing engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology,
The institute offers also short courses in Geology and Mineral exploration, Mining and Mineral processing, Gemology and mineral cutting, Survey, GIS and Remote sensing, Palaeontology and Mineralogy and petrology,
ESIS Departments
ESIS will tentatively have seven (7) departments that will support in achieving its objectives. Other departments to be established in the next strategic plan period as will be found necessary.

About ESIS
Earth Sciences Institute of Shinyanga (ESIS) is a private Technical Institution registered by the National Council for Technical Education of Tanzania (NACTE) with Reg. No REG/EOS/041P to offer exploration, mining engineering, mineral processing and gemology long and short courses. ESIS’s head office is located at Ndala in Shinyanga Municipality while classes and dormitories are currently located within the mining premises of Williamson Diamond Limited in Mwadui Shinyanga.
It is focused on Earth Sciences and offers certificates and diplomas in earth science fields that are competence based – so called National Technical Awards (NTAs) in accordance to National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
